The Capital Pioneers women's tackle football team is the flagship program of the Salem Women's Football Association and is the culmination of our core mission to empower and uplift female athletes through the sport of American Football.
The Pioneers compete in the Women's Football Alliance, the nation's premier Women's Football league with 60+ teams nationwide as well as international partnerships with football programs all over the world. We pride ourselves in our team's spirit of togetherness and family as we compete to win the WFA National Championship at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.
Women who are seeking the opportunity to play competitive tackle football in a fun and welcoming environment and live in Pioneer Country are welcome to come experience the fun a closeness of being a Pioneer. We welcome players living from Albany to Wilsonville, from the Coast to the Idaho border. So those from area like Wilsonville, Newberg, McMinnville, Canby, Woodburn, Gervais, Silverton, Keizer, Salem, Dallas, Albany, Monmouth, Independence, Grand Ronde, Lincoln City, Stayton, Detroit and everywhere in between....You're all welcome here.
The goal of our program is to make this amazing team sport available to female athletes at all levels. We believe that American Football is unique because success as a team requires such a wide variety of athlete skills and abilities that it creates an environment where any athlete who wants to learn the game can find a place to excel on the field. We strive to create a welcoming environment where any woman, from those who've never watched a game to veterans with years of experience, can be a part of the incredible women's football community and improve their skills in the game, with opportunities to compete at the highest levels of the sport.
