The Salem Women's Football Association is a non-profit organization committed to Uplifting and Empowering female athletes through the sport of Football.

Historically women have not had the same opportunities as men to compete in football. The SWFA is working towards changing this and ensuring that female athletes of all ages have the opportunity to play. Our programs focus on building the confidence of women and girls both on and off the field.  We are proud to offer opportunities to women who have never played football all the way through to those who are attempting to compete internationally.

The SWFA's non profit board is predominantly comprised of women from our programs. We have no paid staff and have a commitment that the funds raised through all of our programs go back into making each program great and affordable. In order to do this we rely on the support of our community, businesses, individual donors and event attendance. We hope to gain your support in our efforts to support these fantastic and deserving women athletes.

Our flagship program is the Capital Pioneers adult Women's Tackle Football team that plays in the Women's Football Alliance. The WFA fields 60 plus teams Nationwide and holds both the Championship games and All American games at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton Ohio. The WFA also provides one of the pathways to International competition for our women athletes.  The Pioneers have had several of our players make the selection to the All American team and we are proud to say we have had players apply for selection to International play. In 2022 the SWFA launched its Adult Women's Flag Football program.  The flag program was a huge success and we are looking forward to the growth of our summer flag league.
